One of the main focuses of Emmanuel Relief and Rehabilitation Philippines (ERRP) is in disaster relief due to the prevalence of natural disasters in the country. At least once a year there is a typhoon that hits the country causing great damage, and recently these have been getting larger. However, this has not affected the culture of the Filipino people who are very resilient and have learnt to live with this reality.
To address the needs these natural disasters do to the people of the Philippines, ERRP continues to provide support to those affected by these various natural disasters (typhoons, volcanoes, earthquakes, floods, and more).
The most recent disaster was Super Typhoon Rai, known locally as Typhoon Odette, which occurred in December of 2021. It affected more than 6.8 million people, including Mindanao which is where ERRP is located. On Bohol Island, with their partner, Alliance of Bible Christian Communities of the Philippines (ABCCOP), ERRP has been able to follow up and help destroyed churches and houses. They have purchased building materials with which they will be able to help 150 families in this region.
Continue to pray for the Philippines while they recover from this disaster and for the Emmanuel International Philippines team as they reach these communities.
